Our client approached us for assistance in reducing their power consumption. Using our custom data collection software and OKSA power monitoring hardware, we identified the impact of inductive loads on their electrical network. These loads significantly reduced the power factor, resulting in substantial energy waste, costing the client between £30 and £45 per hour.
After analyzing the data and calculating potential cost savings, we specified a power factor correction unit to effectively resolve the issue, leading to significant financial savings. Additionally, we integrated the system into our custom DA system, enabling ongoing power analytics at the client’s site. This ensures they can continuously monitor and optimize their power usage, preventing unnecessary costs in the future.
